Tranquility Lake Trail Race Course - 3 Mile Loop, The 6 Mile is two loops.

Kick Off Your Trail Running Journey at Tranquility Lake!

The Tranquility Lake Trail Race is the first stop in the 2026 Southeastern Trail Series — the perfect way to step off the road and onto the trails.

  • Where: Redbud Pavilion, Oak Mountain State Park

  • When: Saturday, April — 8:00 AM Start

  • Distances: 3 Miles (1 Lap) • 6 Miles (2 Laps)

Why Tranquility Lake?

  • Beginner-Friendly: Just 450 feet of elevation gain per lap — gentle by Oak Mountain standards.

  • Scenic & Challenging: Cruise around Tranquility Road before winding along shaded single-track, cross through Maggie’s Glen, and climb the ridge above Tranquility Lake, before descending back to the finish.

  • Choose Your Distance: Test the waters with a single 3-mile lap, or double up for 6 miles and a bigger challenge.

Whether you’re a first-time trail runner or a seasoned road racer looking for something new, this race will get you hooked on the trails. And it’s the perfect first step toward bigger goals in the Southeastern Trail Series — building up to the legendary Blood Rock Ultra in December.

Good to Know:

  • Trail shoes recommended for comfort and traction.

  • $5 cash-only entry fee at Oak Mountain State Park.

  • Aid station at the pavilion for 6-mile runners.

  • Brunch for all runners after the finish.

Start your trail journey where it all begins — at Tranquility Lake.
