Stage 3 - Oak Mountain State Park- 20.22 Miles - 5,898 ft. of Elevation Gain.
This stage will be the longest and hardest of the three stages. Double Oak Mountain is over 600 feet above the surrounding terrain and is a very rugged mountain. There are several steep climbs and depending on the weather, there may also be several creek crossings. The race will be divided into two segments. The race is two loops of a 10.11 mile course starting and ending at the Redbud Pavilion and Aid Station. The total length of the course is 20.22 miles with elevation gain of 5,898 ft. Here is a link to Google Maps with the route to Redbud Pavilion from Oak Mtn State Park South Entrance. The Redbud Pavilion is by the BMX Track. Please note, the North Gate (actually northeast is a more accurate) of Oak Mountain State Park does not open until 7:00 AM. If you plan to arrive before 7:00 AM, you will need to enter the park through the south entrance.
