Stage 3 - Oak Mountain State Park- 22.5 Miles - 4,224 ft. of Elevation Gain.
This stage will be the longest and hardest of the three stages. Double Oak Mountain is over 600 feet above the surrounding terrain and is a very rugged mountain. There are several steep climbs and depending on the weather, there may also be several creek crossings. The race will be divided into two segments. The first part will circle the northeast end of the park on a 7.4 mile loop before returning to he Start/Finish area and the first aid station. Runners will then head southwest on a 4 mile loop before returning to the Redbud Aid Station. This will complete the first lap of the 11.4 mile course. Leave the aid station to the northeast once again and repeat the full 11.4 mile lap again. The total elevation gain for the Oak Mtn Stage will 4,224ft.
